Many of you may not know the history of the Dixon Gridiron Football Club. In 2012 there was a small group of people from the community who met on a February evening to discuss how to assist the Varsity Football program with some of their financial needs. As the meeting progressed we all realized that there was an overwhelming desire to not only see our "BULLDOGS" extra needs met, but that we wanted to see the program improve. Before you know it the discussion over the importance of developing a Youth Football Program was critical. So it began, Scott Wheeler was elected the first Gridiron President followed by the curent Preseident Theresa Mitchell. The planning of the first ever Youth Football league in the community began with Scott Perozzi assuming the league commisoner position, and he did a great job in its first 2 years. The new commisioner Sarah Degrasse has a big task to oversee and fine-tune the area's largest Youth Football & Cheer program.
Starting & Funding a NEW Youth Football program
The Dixon Gridiron Club has invested over $30,000 to start Youth Football and Cheerleading. We are planning on tripling this amount this year by adding new fund raisers, events and blood, sweat & tears from the board members and support from our community!
Feeding our Varsity, JV & Middle School athletes and Cheerleaders
It costs over $20,000 a season to feed all our athletes at every level. We need your support and help.
Purchasing brand new uniforms for the Varsity Bulldogs
If you went to a game last season, you would have seen those Bulldogs sporting NEW uniforms provided by the Gridiron Club. The Black goes well with the Gold and Maroon!
Constructing a practice field for all of our football athletes
We are finally going to get a practice field at Dixon High. Installation should be started soon and we hope to have this field done before the 2015 season starts!
